The 2019 edition of Veronafiere's International Exhibition of Quality Agro-Foods closed with more specialist visitors than ever. Attendance came to 57.800 people; 27% were international operators from 131 countries. More than 400 b2b meetings were organised.
There are 26 winners of the Golosario Award at Sol&Agrifood 2019. Three days of incognito tastings by a team of judges. The awards will be presented on the closing day of the International Agro-Food Show, followed by a final tasting.

Gold, silver and bronze medals in the new "Absolute Beginners" category of the Sol d'Oro Northern Hemisphere Competition 2019 were awarded on the opening day of Sol&Agrifood.
11 out of 15 medals in all taken by Italy - Puglia, Campania, Trentino, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Sicily And Sardinia - and 4 by spanish companies. Italian products took 41 out 59 special mentions with 18 going to international producers.
The Sol Intl EVO Oil Show will be held during the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair. This is the new Veronafiere initiative to sell, promote and position extra-virgin olive oil in China - where in over last year Italian exports grew by 41% - and other Far East markets.

Initially set up to promote qualitative improvement and awareness of extra virgin olive oil around the world, the competition organised by Veronafiere-Sol&Agrifood has since become increasingly important as a marketing and sales tool. The "quality sticker and the "Stars of Sol d'Oro" guide distributed to dealers and journalists from 130 countries during Sol&Agrifood equally ensure many business opportunities for products earning medals.
Thanks to its carbon footprint, olive oil production on a global scale can offset the greenhouse gas emissions of a city the size of Hong Kong.
