Uruguay, South Africa and Chile win Sol d'Oro Southern Hemisphere

The winners of the only blind tasting competition dedicated to extra virgin olive oils produced in the southern hemisphere were announced at Expoalimentaria in Lima. Chile took three medals, followed by South Africa and Uruguay with two and Peru and Brazil with one - yet all countries taking part expressed impressive quality, as the Special Mentions also assigned to Argentina and Australia clearly demonstrate. The special "Giulio Bertrand Prize" was awarded to Chilean producer Agricola Monte Olivo.

Veronafiere takes Sol d'Oro to Peru to discover the finest extra virgin olive oils in the southern hemisphere
